Guide of the old city of Lancieux

Guide of the city of Lancieux

We start with the church.  It was built between 1900 and 1902. In the apse there is a stone showing the start of the construction.

Next, take the rue du Centre, and stop in front of the house « Le Poudouvre » : you enter into the most ancient part of Lancieux. You will find a captain's house at the jonction of the rue des Bernillets.

Follow afterwards the rue d'Armor, and continue to enjoy all the ancient buildings of the 19e century. They are witnesses of Lancieux's agricultural past.

Then, the rue du Vieux Clocher takes you to the square of the same name. You can enter the site du Vieux Clocher to appreciate it closely.

After crossing the square, you join the rue de la Source to enter the seaside of Lancieux. You can walk down this street to arrive at the beach of Saint-Sieu. You will have a magnificent and protected view of the bay and the island of the Ebihens.

The mill of Buglais, was built in the 16th century by the benedictine monks of the Abbey of Saint-Jacut. This mill was working up to the middle of the 20th century. Acquired by the town in the seventies, it was restaured entirely, and in a working state.
